The Presidency has reacted to a call made by a previous Army head, asking Nigerians to ascend and protect themselves against brutal assaults.
Previous Army general, Theophilus Danjuma, said Nigerians were being butchered by dangerous packs in light of the fact that the military were "not unbiased".
He said security powers rather helped the attackers by furnishing them with cover.
"The military are not unbiased," Mr. Danjuma said at the lady meeting of the Taraba State University in Jalingo, the state capital. "They plot with the outfitted scoundrels to execute individuals, murder Nigerians."
