Presidential run-off decision will hold March 31, Sierra Leone's NEC consoles

The Sierra Leone's National Electoral Commission (NEC) has guaranteed the voters in the nation that the nation's run-off presidential race would hang on March 31 as planned.

The commission gave the affirmation in an announcement issued by NEC Chairman, Mohamed Conteh, on Wednesday in Freetown.

Mr Conteh said that the commission kept on getting ready for the decisions; guided by constitution of Sierra Leone, 1991; and the nation's Public Elections Act, 2012.

"NEC is continuing with improvement of the constituent procedure, following choices with the two residual hopefuls and their gatherings, interceded by African previous Heads-of-State on Monday in Freetown.''

In a different explanation, Mr Conteh said the commission had turned around its before reported councillorship result for Ward 92 Kono District, Eastern District.

"The overall population is educated that the affirmation of result for Ward 9, Kono District that prior pronounced Mohamed Keyed, contender for the Coalition for Change, as champ has been turned around.

"The National Electoral Commission thusly pronounces Mattu Sumana competitor of the All Peoples Congress (APC), who having surveyed 1669 the most elevated number of substantial votes cast, properly chose Councilor of Ward 92, Kono District.

"Any burden is lamented.'' (NAN)
