Several YouTube employees reported there was an "active shooter" inside the building.
YouTube Product Manager Vadim Lavrusik said he heard shots and was barricaded inside a room.
Others working in the area said
police were surrounding the YouTube HQ on Cherry Tree Avenue and nearby offices
had also been put on lockdown.
Some posted photographs online
showing staff being evacuated with their hands up.
Police have warned people to stay
away from the area near Cherry Avenue.
Ryan Parker, a journalist for The
Hollywood Reporter, said police confirmed no one had yet been held and it was
"a very active scene".
